A Saturday Evening With The Andersons

Some may say our Saturday evenings are uneventful and a little boring.
But we say they are the best in town.
Full of quality entertainment and laughs- what more could you ask for!

Baby Em's is a little obsessed with her rice cereal...her faces say it all!

We took her binky away this week (horray!  no more binky!)
We think the "sucking the index finger" trick is pretty darn cute.

Afton randomly went through a potty training regression this past month.  Who knows why because she has potty trained for 9 months and hadn't had an accident for about six months (she didn't even have problems when we brought Emme home)!  Just another awesome part of potty training!
Our awesome Parents as Teachers lady suggested implementing a potty chart with a reward for filling it out.  Afton LOVES Grandma Parkinson's tea set so we suggested a tea set as her reward.  She was THRILLED!  She helped me look through Amazon and picked this set out all by herself!  She even made me print a picture of it.  She carried the picture around with her everywhere she went.  She even slept with the picture on her pillow!  She was pretty excited to say the least.
Once the party chart was up, she had no accidents- just as expected.  It was just the motivation she needed and we are all happy now!

Kenton asked her to smile like a princess. Apparently this is how princesses smile!

This is an Afton move. Everything lined up and in order.

  1. Oh my goodness, I feel like such a slacker that you've already taken Emme's binky away and Aiden still has his!! I try to only give it to him at naptime and bedtime, but Church is what's killing us! I'm too worried he'll make a scene at Church so I always bring it along and we always end up giving it to him. I guess it doesn't help that Church is right during naptime :/ Good for you though!! That's great!

    1. Haha Jess, its really nothing to be proud of! Someone gave us the tip to take away a binky early when we had Afton. It was so easy and worked so well that we will do it with all our kids! It was really nothing at all. haha.
I can relate to the Church issues! The binky keeps them quiet and without they are just loud! Don't worry, its a stage- it will pass! You are such a good mom and that little boy is so cute! He is one lucky kid- thats for sure!
