the flatirons

Last weekend we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and go for a small hike. 
One of the most amazing benefits to where we live is that there are so many hikes so close to us!  This one was about 10 minutes from our house. 
We thought we were going on a small simple hike- but we started on the wrong path so it took a little longer than expected!  But, Afton was surprisingly such a trooper!  She hiked way more than she thought she would- but also had to spend time on Dad's shoulders.  As per Kenton's request, we will probably be getting a hiking backpack soon! 
We feel so lucky to be close to such beauty and it felt so nice to be able to get out of the house and into nature!  We can't wait to explore all the local hikes this summer.
